Who are we looking for?
We are searching for a motivated team player who is looking for a technically challenging career without the physical constraints of a traditional desk job. In this role, you will travel to a variety of job sites and help execute land surveys for the development of new roads, neighborhoods, municipal infrastructure, parks, trails, and other community projects. The Survey Field Technician position is also a stepping stone to becoming a Survey Crew Chief. What are the responsibilities and roles of this position?
Assist with field data collection for, aviation, boundary, ALTA / NSPS, boundary, linear route, and topographic surveys.
Perform surveys in diverse conditions including roadways, forests, creeks, and farm fields during all four seasons.
Represent our company and our values to the public while on job sites.
Utilize remote communications to and from our home office.
Investigate essential information to conduct new land surveys such as maps, deeds, previous survey data, photographs, and section corner ties.
Operate the latest robotic total stations (S7), electronic levels (Dini level), GPS RTK units (R10), Trimble Business Center, Version 4.0, (data-collection and processing software), Seafloor Hydrone RCV equipment, Trimble Access (cloud data-transfer), LiDAR processing software and the use of field scanning equipment.
Be a team player and maintain a positive, coachable attitude.
Where is this position located?
This job will primarily be located on job sites in the Terre Haute, Indiana Region
Requirements
What are the required qualifications for this role?
1 year of land surveying experience preferred but not required
High school diploma
An Associate’s Degree in Land Surveying is preferred but not required
Valid driver’s license
